Friend wrecked last night

Postby Wyomom on Sat Jul 10, 2010 1:10 pm

DH and a group of about 15 bikes wanted to ride out to work. The mine is about 70-75 miles north of town. One guy rides a BMW and it's like a Enduro, can go street or dirt kinda bike...I haven't seen it, so I couldn't tell ya what it is. Anywho, they group gets about 5 miles from the mine entrance and he decides he is going to get there first. Billy said he was doing about 75, as were the others and this guy blew past them like they were standing still. So he passes everyone and proceeds to get too close to the right-side edge of the road, loses control and goes off the road, manages to stay up for a while but loses it again and flips the bike. It ended up on top of him. Fortunately all he did was mess up his shoulder and thankfully he was wearing his helmet! Glad it wasn't any worse.

Didn't surprise me, he kinda has a cocky, arrogant way about him. He is a smaller guy and his wife is way bigger than him. She armed wrestled in Russia! She broke her hubby's arm once horsin around...

Sorry to hear all those male horomones almost did him in.I've never seen it fail when you get a pack of males together, one always decides he has to prove something. He was darn lucky to come out as well as he did, seeeing as the bike landed on him  Hope he gets feeling better soon.I'm sure his ego is smashed more than his bike, seeing as this happened right in front of friends.

I think his ego will be a little dented by this, and would say that is a very good thing.

Wow! He was a lucky fella! Hopefully he'll learn something from his behavior, though sadly I doubt it'll be the 'sticking type of lesson'. Thankfully he didn't cause any harm to anyone else in his stupidity, other than his friends having to witness him go down.

Hopefully he will learn, too many people, especially younger more egotistical, will look at an experience like that as a proof of their superior abilities and survival skill. One can only hope they grow up before something irreversible happens.

Wow, how embarrassing. Can you imagine seeing the group of riders that witnessed that act of stupidity after the accident? OMG! Duh! He must feel like he wants to crawl in a hole and never come out. Truthfully it sounds like he has some serious emotional issues that a good therapist could help him resolve.

 Yeah he is kind of a tool! But he did break his clavicle and will be off work for a while. He will never grow up, have known him since highschool. He's the type that thinks he is a young guy, bigger/ better /faster than everybody else. He is going to be ok, but I think he will still try to outdo everyone else again.
