Not Really Funny...But...

On the news tonight, they reported on a motorcyclist that was going down the interstate. As he went into a curve, his prostetic leg fell off. He coasted to the side of the road, and sat on the guard rail. A trooper stopped to see what was going on. The fire dept. came and searched the side of the road and found his leg. He put it back on, they escorted him down the highway to some friends he was riding with, and he was on his way.

When I was growing up my parents had a friend with a prosthetic leg. You'd never know it to see him. This was in the 1960's too. He had funny stories-once he was skiing on the lake and his leg fell off. He thought the look on other boaters faces were priceless!

I don't know, I guess if the guy had a sense of humor about it all, it does qualify for funny ... and super kudos to still ride!

Can't imagine being in the vehicle following him when the leg flew off tho! At least it didn't get run over - now that would've been really not funny!

Anglefire...I was wondering the same thing. But who knows what they left out of the story. I can onlyi magine what folks seeing a leg come flying off were thinking I wonder if your motorcycle insurance would cover the loss if it had been destroyed

hmmm, good question ... and it did say they "escorted him to his friends" so maybe they just realized he wasn't with them and had stopped - or they were just going a short distance...

"What happened to the car? Have you been drinking and driving again?"
"No honey, I was driving down the road and this leg flew up and broke the windshield."
"Enough of your stories, time to just fess up and tell the truth."

Several years ago, the same thing happened to someone riding one of the big rollercoasters at Universal Studios in Orlando. It landed in the pond below, if I remember right. Can't imagine what that did to anyone at the park with a rollercoaster phobia!
