New bifocals

Postby Blacktop on Fri Oct 02, 2009 7:00 pm

Today was just beautiful, high was in the mid 70's with low humidity.I left the house during heavy Friday lunch traffic, and ran errands for the first time ever on my bike.City traffic was no problem, but once I went into to the rural areas to p/u a leather jacket zipper repair at a saddle shop I noticed my shift timing coming into curving interchanges was all off.I was miss judging what gear I truly needed to be in, needless to say I should have been in second instead of third  I just got my second pair of bifocals, which my license is restricted with corrective lenses.I have no choice but to wear them full time. Can new glasses throw off depth perception until your eyes adjust. This is my third day to wear them full time, and I've had a headache that I can't shake off with even Advil.

SOOOOO,it's not my imagination :!: Thank you, thank you, thank you.I was feeling quite stupid, when I decided to cut my day short and park my bike.DH tried to understand what I was mumbling about, and said he didn't notice anything wrong with my riding.
I'm going to give my eye doctor a call tomorrow.Am I wrong to feel like the doc being a fellow rider, should have mentioned this to me :?:

I don't have bifocals, but a very strong prescription. Every time I get new glasses, I get headaches and my depth perception is off for a few days. Everything looks as if it's going downhill (maybe it is, hehe :D). So, it's definitely not your imagination.

I'll just add to the same thing I've read,,,so you get yet another person to say ITS NOT YOU. Its difficult enough adjusting to a new Rx then add bifocals. Poor DH wears trifocals now, he had a hard time for over a month. You'll get used to it.
